Thanks for passing along. Certainly gives some food for tout as to why some of the messages of those books left me a little uncomfortable.

I do want to say that for Brian Welch, he is currently part of a ministry along with Sonny Sandoval (P.O.D.), Lacey Mosley (Flyleaf), and other "Christian celebrities" called The Whosoevers whose mission is to reach youth in areas where churches often fail to go. I don't know a lot about Brian specifically, but Sonny is one of the founders, and his faith is rock solid.

Of course we shouldn't glorify these men and women and put them up on a pedestal, shouting, "Look who we've got!" at the world, but we also shouldn't discard them completely in an attempt to avoid idolatry, because their positions in the industry can facilitate reaching a culture which is largely ignored and unreached—the culture from which Brian Welch, Sonny Sandoval, and Lacey Mosley all emerged at the beckon of Jesus Christ.

Thanks for this Daniel! Always trying to improve in my ability to lead my family and the ministries I'm involved in. Rick's thoughts here are priceless.

Daniel,

I can't thank you enough for the encouragement you bring. You have no idea how much you have taught me! One of Mom and my goals was to raise children who had a greater knowledge and love for Christ than we had and you are living out that dream for me. I must say that it has truly been a joy to be Dad to all six of you and the joy simply increases
Thanks Daniel. I see you "got it!" I love you deeply!

May God bless both of you and your families always. My 10 year old son suffered an L3 SCI on August 23rd, 2010. He is an absolute inspiration to me and anyone who is lucky enough to meet him. He started learning karate a month ago (5 months post accident) and he is excited to try some wheelchair basketball this coming summer. Thank you for sharing your journey and my prayers are with you.
